The King of Jordan is surely making the rounds lately, in the United States, in Europe, in Russia, and in Japan.  He is being widely recommended as a "replacement" for Arafat in the MidEast.  Could he be the antichrist?   Or are we looking for a European Community "king" (or ruler)?  The antichrist to come is associated with the "ten kings" of Revelation (also the "ten toes" of Nebuchadnezzar's vision in the Book of Daniel).  These "ten kings" are generally associated with Europe.  However, this does not require the antichrist be from the European Union.  Read on.

The well-known "ten kings" (of the Book of Revelation) do not receive their kingdoms until late in the game.  In fact, they receive "power" for only a  short period of time, "one hour."  It is also stated that they  "GIVE their power and strength unto the beast" (antichrist, who is already functioning in some capacity) and they come to their ultimate power SIMULTANEOUSLY ("receive power as kings ONE HOUR WITH THE BEAST") with the beast (antichrist)."    Therefore, the ultimate power of antichrist is not received until the Tribulation is well underway.  Verses follow to support this.    (The fact that the antichrist receives "power" after the Tribulation is well underway does not preclude the antichrist from "confirming the covenant" at the beginning of the Tribulation as well.   The antichrist's power is increased during the middle of the 7-year tribulation.  The "ten kings" assume their power at this time also.  Therefore, the "ten kings" are not the original sponsor of the antichrist at the beginning of the 7-year tribulation.)

        Rev 17:12   And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but RECEIVE POWER AS KINGS ONE HOUR WITH THE BEAST.

        Rev 17:13   These have one mind, and shall GIVE THEIR POWER AND STRENGTH UNTO THE BEAST. 
 

    Coincidentally, the judgment of Babylon the Great (which takes place DURING the 7 year tribulation, but does not occupy the entire 7 years) lasts "ONE HOUR."  (Read Rev 17 and 18).
 
        Rev 18:10   Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying,  Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in ONE HOUR is thy judgment come.

    This Babylon the Great is said to be that "great city which reigneth over the kings of the earth."  The vast majority of scholars agree that this is Rome, the Vatican hierarchy.  School children learn early that Rome sits on seven hills.  Since the Book of  Revelation was written around 90 AD and since the woman "reigneth" (present tense) over the kings of the earth, this woman must  represent  Rome.  It will be shown that Rome is the original sponsor of the antichrist in another discussion.

        Rev 17:18   And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. 
 
        Rev 17:9   And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 

         Therefore, the judgment (destruction) of Babylon the Great, could coincide IN TIME with the UNION of the ten kings and the antichrist and their assumption of power. (More on this later.)  Furthermore, since the ten kings receive power WITH the antichrist during a time frame LESS than the full 7 years, the antichrist will not necessarily be a "king" at the beginning of the 7 years, though he could be.  Most scholars believe that the destruction of Babylon the Great occurs at or after the midpoint of the 7 years.

Daniel 8:24   And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

Daniel 11:23   And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

The use of Daniel 11:23 as a verse applicable to the antichrist is questionable.  The reason is that Daniel 11:1-31 was already fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes circa 164 BC in the aftermath of Ptolemy and Seleucid wars.  Some do say that Antiochus is a "type" of the antichrist, although there is no statement to this effect in the Bible.  However, it is difficult to argue with Daniel 8:24, especially considering Daniel 8:25 ("the Prince of princes", Jesus).

Consequently, he is not some all powerful king initially.  In spite of the insistence of many he does not have to come from Europe.

    In fact, there is nothing in the Bible that mandates that the antichrist come from the European Community.  Instead he must come from the PEOPLE of the former Roman Empire.  Roman peoples have populated North Africa, the Mediterranean nations, Great Britain, and southern Europe.  The essential verse establishing that the antichrist is from what was formerly the Roman Empire is Dan 9:26.

        Dan 9:26   And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

    "The prince that shall come" is the antichrist.  The antichrist is of "the people [that] shall destroy the city."  The "city" is Jerusalem and was destroyed by the Roman soldiers in 70 A.D.  Therefore, the antichrist is from the Romans, NOT the (EC) European Community per se.  Part of the EC is included in the Roman Empire, but there are parts of the Roman Empire that are NOT in the EC.  To fulfill this prophecy the antichrist does not have to come from the Roman areas, but must be a descendent of Roman peoples. There is additional information in the Bible that seems to indicate that the antichrist arises from Assyria (now the Syria-Jordan area).  Syria is one of the four parts into which the empire of Alexander the Great fell.  [It is said in Daniel 8:23-25 that the antichrist would come out of one of these parts (horns).   Read The Antichrist is from Assyria .]
 
        Isa 10:12   Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his WHOLE WORK upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. 
 
        Isa 14:25   That I will break the Assyrian in MY land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

    There is today a leader who could potentially fulfill both these prophecies (a descendent of Roman peoples and from Assyria).  His mother, Antoinette Gardiner, is from Britain, and he is therefore descended from the Romans who occupied Britain.  He is also from Assyria because he is presently the King Of Jordan, King Abdullah Hussein, a direct descendent of the 43rd generation of the Prophet Mohammad.

     If you read the New York Times article cited earlier, you found that King Abdullah is expected to hold talks with Mr. Bush on the next steps in forcing Mr. Arafat to rein in extremists and keep a lid on suicide bombings .

It is now (10-12-2002) being openly reported in the media that a US military occupation will occur in Iraq.

     From A Gift of Prophecy, the Phenomenal Jeane Dixon, by Ruth Montgomery published by Bantam Books of New York in 1965 we read the following from pg 179,

          Three nights before Jeanes vision [of February 5, 1962] she was meditating in her room when she became aware that the light was dimming.  Glancing up, she saw the 5 bulbs in the crystal chandelier go dark except for a curious round ball which glowed brilliantly in the center of each.  the next evening the phenomenon recurred  When the performance was repeated exactly as before as before on the third evening, Jeanne accepted it as an omen that something was soon to befall.  
 
     This phenomenon began on February 2, 1962.  Jeane later describes the subsequent vision as

          Stepping out of the brightness of the suns rays, hand in hand, were a Pharaoh and Queen Nefertiti.  Cradled in the Queens other arm was a baby [whose] eyes were all-knowing full of wisdom and knowledge. [later the baby] had by now grown to manhood, and a small cross which formed above him began to expand until it dripped over the earth in all directions.  Simultaneously, peoples of every race, religion, and color each kneeling and lifting his arms in WORSHIPFUL ADORATION, surrounded him. They were all as one.

     Later, Jeane explains this as

          A child born somewhere in the Middle East on February 5, 1962 will revolutionize the world and bring together all mankind in one all-embracing faith a new Christianity every sect and creed united through this man.

    
     No one can be sure who the antichrist is, but whoever he is, his time will come and his judgment is sure. 

     The prophecies of Jeane Dixon are certainly not to be taken at face value as truth.  However, 2 days before Jeane observed the first phenomena about her vision of a man to be worshipped, who will unite all mankind; a man WAS born on January 30, 1962 in the Middle East of royal descent King Abdullah of Jordan. This same King Abdullah is meeting the week of May 8, 2002 with President Bush to discuss ways to FORCE Arafat to stop terrorism.

"In revising the form of words for exorcism, we have re-thought the nature of the evil we are trying to root out," says one member of the commission.
Officials say the Church isn't revising "scriptural references" to the Devil or suggesting that people should cease believing in "the Evil One." But priests conducting exorcisms should deal with evil as a force "lurking within all individuals" instead of one that threatens people from without. Monsignor Corrado Balducci, the Vatican's chief exorcist, says the Church has to adapt to modern thinking and "be more careful in distinguishing between possession by evil spirits and what are more commonly called psychiatric disturbances."  According to Vatican officials, priests will be encouraged not to refer any longer to the Prince of Darkness , the Accursed Dragon, the Foul Spirit, the Satanic Power or the Master of Deceit. Instead the formulas refer to "the cause of evil. "

The giving of this "crown" is for the purpose of "confirming" (enforcing) of Mideast Peace by fighting terrorism .

The beginning of the Tribulation has the antichrist " confirm[ing] the covenant with many ."

WINNIPEG - For 34 years he was a Crown Prince, who stood a heartbeat away from power and served as the closest advisor and confidant to his brother, the late King Hussein of Jordan.

Now, as the world braces for war with Iraq, Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan is increasingly seen as a possible replacement for Saddam Hussein -- a new King of Iraq -- a man who could almost singlehandedly transform the face of the Middle East.

It is an idea Prince Hassan sidestepped diplomatically yesterday in an exclusive interview with the National Post, saying: "I am not obsessed with red carpet fever."

He sees himself instead as a statesman who has been steeped in the turmoil of the Middle East for 55 years, a humanitarian who wants to bring peace and stability to his troubled region, a man who, for decades, has tried to find understanding among what he calls "the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam."

"I am always available to anyone who wants an agony aunt," he joked, before delivering a special lecture on the "Culture of Peace" at the University of Manitoba.

"I don't like to talk about pecking orders and hierarchies and so forth," he added. "I genuinely am concerned about the future and would like to do whatever I can to promote the concepts I believe in.

"Obviously, the Iraqis have to decide on their own constituent assembly arrangements and what the future holds for them is their choice," he said.

It is neither a "yes" nor a "no" about the likelihood of his heading a rebuilt Iraq. But in the shadowy no man's land of the current crisis, it is as precise a statement of personal availability as can reasonably be made. Especially when George W. Bush, the U.S. President, is insisting on "regime change" in Baghdad, but with no clear indication of who or what might actually replace Saddam's dictatorship.

That is something that deeply concerns Prince Hassan.

He fears not enough attention is being paid to the possible aftermath of a war to depose Saddam.

A defeated Iraq could start to disintegrate, he warns, fuelling ethnic and sectarian violence more horrible than the recent Balkan wars.

A massive military confrontation and loss of life could be just a prelude to a "scorched earth policy" by Saddam that would make the environmental damage inflicted on Kuwait during the Gulf War look like child's play, he added.

"My abiding fear is that, as critical as I am of the state system [in Iraq], the alternative of ethnic and sectarian bloodshed, Balkan-style, from Israel to India, is too horrifying to contemplate.

"I think how wars end is a very important thing to keep in mind."

He stresses he has opposed the use of force against Iraq since the Gulf War in 1990. But, he adds, in the end, war may be inevitable.

"A moment comes, quiet clearly, when the irresistible force meets an immovable object and something has to give," he said. "In the context of the Arab world, I know the consensus is against the use of force, as it is in most parts of the world. But President Bush says war is a last resort. There is still some wiggle room.

"Nevertheless, I think it is very important for the Arab world to make it very clear to Iraq that, at the end of the day, we have done what we can to stay the hand of war. But we also have our interests."

In the last four months, since he publicly attended a London conference of Iraqi exiles who were plotting to overthrow Saddam, Prince Hassan has been seen as someone uniquely qualified by lineage and experience to serve a special role in reintegrating a post-Saddam Iraq into the world community.

Just as the United States used former Afghan King Mohammad Zahir Shah to pull quarrelsome groups of Afghans together in the wake of the overthrow of the Taliban, Prince Hassan, the elder statesman of the Hashemite royal family, may be called upon to transcend the ethnic and political cleavages that are bound to erupt in a post-Saddam Iraq.

In some ways, he offers an elegant solution to the very messy problem of regime change.

The Prince is a well-respected statesman in the Arab world and a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed, a member of the 42nd generation of the Hashemite family, which originally served as guardians of Mecca and Medina and, in the last century, established kingdoms in Syria, Iraq and Jordan.

Only Jordan survives as a Hashemite kingdom. But Prince Hassan's great-uncle was the founder of modern Iraq and his cousin, King Faisal II, ruled in Baghdad until 1958, when army rebels slaughtered the 19-year-old ruler and his family in the first of a long string of bloody coups that ultimately led to Saddam's dictatorship.

More modest and less flamboyant than his late brother, King Hussein, Prince Hassan is widely regarded as a man of dignity, knowledge and impeccable connections.

In his 34 years as Crown Prince, he cultivated an international reputation as a writer, speaker, humanitarian and environmentalist.

Today, three years after King Hussein, on his deathbed, replaced him as Crown Prince with his own son, the present King Abdullah of Jordan, Prince Hassan still plays a major role on the international stage. He is president of the Club of Rome, an advisor to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, vice-chairman of the Foundation for Interreligious and Intercultural Research and Dialogue in Geneva, a board member of the Council on Foreign Relations, founder of Jordan's Royal Scientific Society and the Arab Thought Forum and president of the Center for Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the University of Oklahoma.

A short barrel of a man, who speaks English like an Oxford don, he is also fluent in Arabic, Hebrew and French, and can get by in a pinch with Spanish, German and Turkish.

He has a boisterous laugh, a solemn frown and loves to discuss abstruse theories in a low, rumbling voice, sprinkling his conversation with quotes from European philosophers and historians and medieval Muslim scholars.

A man with an intimate knowledge of the cultural, religious and political issues of the Middle East, his ascension to power in Iraq would put a friend of the United States in power, help ease tensions with Israel and informally unite Jordan and Iraq as a counterweight to regional rivals such as Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

More importantly, a restoration of the old Hashemite monarchy might forestall Iraq's disintegration and serve as a bridge leading to a more democratic and inclusive Iraqi state.

"I have been saying this for years and years and years," he says. "Human dignity, elimination of the role of the military in public life and recognition of the fact that Iraq itself is a mosaic culturally are all important."

"I have been in public life for over 54 years, alongside my dead brother," he adds.

"I have, I think, acquired a certain working knowledge of the causes of what has gone wrong in the many parts of our region. To put them right, I think basically one has to talk not of monarchy or republic, but of people -- of the need for consensus, for inclusion, for pluralism."

The antichrist allows the "Palestinians" to escape .

Discussion is underway regarding a solution to Mideast Peace.  Here are some of the  specifics as advocated by TheGlobalist.com..  It is said that "this leader would have a proven track record of leading Palestinians toward democracy... [and} a strong relationship with the United States ."

The question is then asked: "... is King Abdullah someone whom the United States could trust with brokering peace and administering Palestinian territory ?"    Did you see that?  " Administering Palestinian territory "  could be the REASON " a crown [will be] given unto him."

It is the said of the King -

"King Abdullah himself attended secondary school in Massachusetts - and studied at both Oxford and Georgetown universities. He is more comfortable speaking English than he is classical Arabic. If you're seeking a living example of the potential synergy between the United States and Arab nations, the King of Jordan is such a man ."

Of course, these aspects of Abdullah could make him too much in the western camp and therefore unacceptable to Palestinians.

However, it is widely recognized that His Majesty's wife is of  Palestinian descent and that Jordan is largely (by population) a Palestinian nation.  Jordan has been the ONLY Arab nation willing to do anything for the refugees.  But, Jordan is hurting for money and needs the West to financially support their efforts.  If you read the speeches of King Abdullah, he is constantly referring to financial and technological development for his nation.  Several nations have recently forgiven the Jordanian debts (which they desparately needed).   In  order to accomplish his goals he will need-

Dan 11:43   ... POWER OVER THE TREASURES of gold and of silver,

Did you know that the country "Jordan" got its name after 1967.  Prior to 1967 it was known as "TransJordan."  This was due to the fact that before the Israelis occupied the West Bank (to protect itself from invaders), the Jordanian territory was across ("Trans") the Jordan River.  So Jordan has already ruled the "occupied" territories previously.

[King Abdullah knows the lesson of his father, the recently deceased King Hussein, who at the last moment allowed his military to be a participant in the assault on Israel in  1967, partly to gain favor with Arab nations.  The result?  -   Major miltary losses and embarrassment.   The former ruler of Jordan had a grand history of kowtowing where appropriate to stay in power.  The staying power of King Hussein was incredible.   There has been a great deal of suffering within the Hashemite ruling family.  Hussein went through 3 divorces.  An older family member (his uncle?) was named temporary ruler prior to Hussein (upon the death of Hussein's father) but the uncle was declared incompetent to rule due to being a manic.  It was then that the teenager Hussein became ruler of the Hashemite kingdom.

Consider also that King Abdullah's grandfather was murdered (for supposedly being a traitor to Arab causes) by a gunman whose bullet also hit King Abdullah's father (Hussein was 15 at the time).  The reason  the 15 year old Hussein did not die?  King Abdullah's grandfather had pinned a medal on the 15 year old (the day before) and the medal deflected the bullet.  King Hussein was a darling of the CIA for years.  Hussein was present at the 1993 signing of the Peace Accord between Arafat and Yitzak Rabin (since assassinated also). Assassination  is apparently a way of life for Mideast leaders, especially those who make agreements with Israel.  In addition to having a precedent for ruling Palestinians, the Hashemites have a history of appeasing the Western powers.]

Finally, TheGlobalist.com says "With King Abdullah at the helm, Jordan can make the peace - and then make Palestine."

Did you catch this sequence, first "confirm " the "peace", then a "crown" (a Palestinian state?), then ... " conquering "    ?

Daniel 8:9   And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east,   and toward the pleasant land .

A vision is given to Daniel showing how Alexander the Great would conquer the Medo-Perisian Empire and that the antichrist would rise from one of the 4 kingdoms into which Alexander's dominion was broken.   The point we are parenthetically making here is that the relevant text is identifying the antichrist's country of origin.

We read that Alexander's kingdom was broken into 4 parts.  Thrace, Macedonia, Syria, Egypt.  No one has ever maintained in prophecy text or commentary (that I know of) that the antichrist will arise from Thrace or Macedonia; more on why it will not be Thrace/Macedonia later.  (Most say Europe).  Of the 4 Alexandrian parts, that leaves but 2, Syria and Egypt.   We have to eliminate Egypt because antichrist conquers Egypt .  This leaves us with Syria (or the ancient Assyria) which covers modern Syria, Jordan, Iraq as the country from which antichrist rises.

We read that Daniel sought for the meaning-
Daniel 8:15   And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel , had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning , then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

Daniel got his answer from the arch-angel Gabriel-
Daniel 8:16   And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

Gabriel said the vision (just described) was at the TIME of  THE END-
Daniel 8:17   So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision .

Gabriel showed A KING OF FIERCE COUNTENANCE in the LATTER TIME ARISES  out of These PARTS
Daniel 8:23   And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance , and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Gabriel further showed that the antiichrist magnified himself and stopped the Jewish sacrifice-
Daniel 8:11   Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away , and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

This can be none other than the endtime antichrist because-
HE SHALL STAND UP AGAINST JESUS CHRIST and SHALL be BROKEN BY THE SMITING STONE
(Daniel 8:25 continued) he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes ; but he shall be broken without hand.


HE SHALL MAGNIFY HIMSELFand BY PEACE SHALL DESTROY MANY
Daniel 8:25   And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart , and by peace shall destroy many :

Interestingly enough, the antichrist shall be mighty but shall do so by sponsorship and the power of others-
Daniel 8:24   And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power : and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

The US and the Vatican are already sponsoring such a leader.  He will use the military might of the US.  He will use this might to destroy the mighty (in military campaigns ), but later the Jews and the tribulation saints.  


The rising of antichrist will be deceptive, the result of an intelligence operation at the highest levels.  The antichrist causes "craft " to prosper. "Craft" in Strong's Concordance is word # 4820 and means "fraud, deceit, and treachery."   He also shall "understand dark sentences " in Daniel 8:23.  Interestingly enough, the Strong's Concordance word for "dark" AND "sentences" is the SAME word,  # 2420.  They mean "trick" saying.  Hence, the since, the word is used twice, the "trick" is to give out double meanings in the same phrase. The essence of an intelligence operation is misleading information.  The antichrist (DURING HIS RISE) understands "dark sentences."   He has been briefed.

Antiochus Epiphanes, a "type"  of the antichrist, "[spoke] lies at a table. "   By the way, in William Safire's recent Times article, he names a Jordanian as the NUMBER ONE SPY in the WORLD this year.  He says he can not tell WHY.  He claims as a source "international intelligence contacts." Is this the unfolding of "craft" and "dark sentences ?"

Now we have identified the place of origin of the antichrist and the method of his rise to power.  Let's proceed to the topic at hand- the location of his "beast" empire.

We know from the following text of the journal Israel and Palestine Strategic Update for March 25 that the United States has as it's objective the " RE-DRAWING [of] the MIDDLE EASTERN MAP."  The United States is doing this to establish a buffer between Israel and its Moslem enemies to resolve the MidEast peace problem.  Of course, we have read above that the eventual nature of the "peace" will be to "destroy many."  Daniel 8:25.  In order to do this, a new political "entity" must be created.  This new political "entity" will need a ruler.  Secretary Rumsfeld made reference to this "entity" recently as a substitute for the discredited Palestinian Authority .

The journal Israel and Palestine Strategic Update for March 25, edited by veteran Israeli peace activist Maxim Ghilan, warned that broader war plans have been under discussion by the Pentagon war hawks, led by Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and some of those surrounding Vice President Dick Cheney, who "have elaborated a strategic plan directed at re-drawing the Middle Eastern map." This plan is "based on Ariel Sharon's and Shaul Mofaz's direct and detailed suggestions.... According to this concept, and after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq by Anglo-American forces, the Palestinians would be 'evacuated' [thrown out] from both Western Palestine/Eretz Israel and from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This would allow Israel to become an 'ethnically pure' Jewish State."

The journal's forecast continued, "Jordan would be included in Greater Israel, up to the Iraqi border, perhaps with some minor border-corrections. The Hashemite Kingdom would disappear.... The Palestinians would be evacuated and driven over the Iraqi border and settled in population-poor and underdeveloped Iraqi areas.... Syria's regime would be overthrown in a 'Blitzkrieg,' a lightning-fast Israeli/American offensive and a new, pro-American free market Syrian state established instead."

In early April the Israeli-Lebanon border heated up, with the firing of anti-tank rockets and other incidents in the disputed zone. Sharon has threatened to launch a strong reprisal against Hezbollah's alleged sponsors, Syria and Iran. In this context, Rumsfeld's March 28 emphatic addition of Syria to the "axis of evil" had dangerous implications.

The other flashpoints are Jordan and Egypt. Up to eight weeks of military operations in the West Bank will, without doubt, send desperate Palestinians across the Jordan River to seek safety in the Hashemite Kingdom . This possibility terrifies Jordan, which has kept its border closed up until now. With a Jordanian population which is already over 50% Palestinian, it may be impossible to keep these borders closed. A new massive flow of refugees fleeing Israel's offensive could lead to a collapse of the Jordanian monarchy .

If Israel launches operations in the Gaza Strip, Egypt would face the same prospect of refugees fleeing across its borders. Already in the recent past, Israeli military units have made incursions into Egyptian territory during flanking operations against the Palestinians in Gaza. These incursions, though recently reported in the Israeli press, have been kept out of the international media.

As Israel regionalizes the war, moving against Lebanon and Syria, its forces will be overextended. To be able to maintain the escalation, then, Sharon will be tempted to move to the nuclear option. The two most likely targets for such a nuclear strike, would be Baghdad and Tehran.
